Philosophy of Education

CBUS is unashamedly based on the biblical world and life view, in contrast to the humanistic world and life view that is found in secular education and, sadly, in most so-called Christian schools today.

We believe that the Bible is the only sufficient basis for all of life and knowledge.  A “university” is supposed to be a place where all the diverse issues of life are united by one common world view.  Hence the word “university” is made up by combining the words “unity” and “diversity” into uni-versity.

When modern education abandoned the Bible as the unifying principle around which all diversity finds unity, it fell into ruination. This is why modern education is adrift without any unifying point as the basis for its intellectual life.  But here at CBUS, the Bible is the unifying foundation for all education. This gives us the best foundation for the greatest possible degree programs and methods of study.

CBUS provides a distance learning program which combines both on-campus and external studies courses.  Our programs are geared toward busy adult learners who need a student-friendly, comprehensive program to accommodate their busy lifestyles.  On-campus courses are offered weekly.  Off-campus courses package a combination of printed media, audio lectures, CD and DVDs, and the Internet.  CBUS also offers select intensive weekend seminars, conferences, and workshops.
