Just as individuals change and develop with time, California Biblical University and Seminary has developed in significant ways. In our world of accelerated change, it is important to plan carefully for where we are going, but it is also appropriate to consider from whence we have come.
The Research and Education Foundation was founded in 1985 by Dr. Robert Morey to equip Christians to define, document, and defend “the Faith once for all delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3). The California Biblical University and Seminary is the direct outgrowth of REF’s historic mission. Our students are successful pastors, missionaries, Christian educators and business leaders all around the world.
California Biblical University and Seminary was founded in 2005 by dedicated Christian educators and church leaders, who recognized the need to form a Bible-based educational system in southern California. Most of the local Christian colleges and universities have been taken over by humanistic and liberal leaders, who are hostile to the Gospel and seek to be part of the biblically-compromising ecumenical movement. They have compromised the Gospel in order to gain the respect and friendship of the world. But they have forgotten James 4:4:
"You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God."
CBUS produces Christian leaders who will fulfill the cultural mandate (Gen. 1:26-28) as well as the mission’s mandate (Matt. 28:19-20). To this end, CBUS is a pioneer in California, offering outstanding Bible-based external degree programs for pastors, missionaries, and business people who wish to enhance their professional skills and competence.
